Most of these popular tours are led by Julian Humphrys, who read history at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.  Julian has also enjoyed a career in museums and he talks regularly about history on TV and radio, with appearances ranging from Radio 4 to The Generation Game.  He is a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine and also the author of English Heritage’s Battlefield Hikes and “A Clash of Arms: Twelve British Battles”. His most recent book “Enemies at the Gates” takes an entertaining look at English castles under siege and tells the stories from both the attackers and the besieged.
