I am delighted to say that for the eighth year running we will be running a programme of ‘Tours Through Time’ and a summary of the escorted history tours that have been planned can be seen on the Tours Through Time Programme 2010 page. Please feel free to request advance information if there are any specific cultural holidays or escorted tours that you would like to know more about. We’ll send them on to you as soon as possible.

Most of these popular tours are led by Julian Humphrys, who read history at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Julian has also enjoyed a career in museums and he talks regularly about history on TV and radio, with appearances ranging from Radio 4 to The Generation Game. He is a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine and also the author of English Heritage’s Battlefield Hikes and “A Clash of Arms: Twelve British Battles”. His most recent book “Enemies at the Gates” takes an entertaining look at English castles under siege and tells the stories from both the attackers and the besieged. I accept that this provisional booking will be subject to availability and that Brookland Travel will contact me within 24 hours to confirm such availability (48 hours if your request is submitted over a weekend) and to confirm the price of the tour. I have downloaded and read the terms and conditions and the booking form from the website and will be submitting the booking form together with my deposit once Brookland Travel have confirmed availability for the tour in question to me. My provisionally booking will be held for 7 -10 days and a confirmation invoice will be issued to me by Brookland Travel once a deposit has been paid. The date of the final balance payment will be detailed on the confirmation invoice and this is usually 8 weeks prior to the tour date. If there is no availability on the tour of my choice, Brookland Travel will notify me within 24 hours or 48 hours if my request is made over a weekend and I will be provided with the option to select another tour, to be placed on a waitlist for the tour of my choice or no further action will be taken.
